A Very Successful Benefit!
The Soldier’s Benefit honoring SFC Michael Schlitz was a great success! Thank you to everyone who came out in support, sent in donations and worked behind the scenes to make the event happen. We couldn’t have done it without you all.
We are still getting more donations in but so far we estimate we raised over $20,000 at the benefit to support Michael and his mom in building a smart house. We wish to continue to raise funds. If you were unable to attend the event but wish to make a donation, please do so here »
We will be posting photos from the event soon!
A Special Thanks to Our Corporate Donors and Sponsors:

About SFC Michael Schlitz
In 2007 SFC Michael Schlitz and his crew were in the southern Baghdad area on a basic road-clearing mission to find IEDs (improvised explosive devices). Michael states, “There’s only two ways that happens: either it finds you or you find it first. Unfortunately, it found us that day.“
Two artillery shells attached to a propane tank exploded. The explosion killed the driver, gunner and medic, but the blast threw Michael away from the truck, his entire body on fire. He was burned over 85% of his body and lost both arms.
Michael spent four months in a medically-induced coma. Since then he has endured 78 surgeries.
A Soldier’s Benefit
Our purpose is to assist in raising money to build a Smart Home for Michael and his mother. Major Marc Messerschmitt (ret) is a close friend of Michael and recently retired to the Cincinnati area where he grew up. Marc expressed the need to assist Michael with the building project and a group of local businessmen have joined him in this endeavor.
On October 13, 2012 a fundraising event will be held at the Five Seasons Sports Club.
All net proceeds will benefit SFC Michael Shlitz, a courageous American, in building a Smart Home to assist him with his war injuries.
Thank you for your support.
